From what I hear about True Detective, it may end up with a bit of a B.P.R.D. feel. There have been a lot of references to The King in Yellow, parts of which Lovecraft referenced as part of this Cthulhu mythos.
Alice Herz-Sommer, believed to be the oldest-known Holocaust survivor, died Sunday morning in London at the age of 110. The supercentenarian attributes here passion for music as her saving grace.
Her story was told in a 2013 film titled, "The Lady in Number 6" . The film is nominated for an Oscar.
Robocop (the most recent one) is a surprisingly good movie. I highly recommend it.
Completely agree. I went in with zero expectations and i was happily surprised. i'd give it a 4 of 5 on the Netflix scale.
On a slightly different note. There is a scene in the new Mighty Avengers #6 where Luke Cage and the Blue Marvel are talking over a couple beers that is kinda great. It looks like this is turning into the Heros for Hire book I've been wanting for the last several years. Luke and Danny doing street level stuff in New York. And i'm pretty sure Greg Land is done so I can tolerate the art now.
After three issues of Justice League 3000, I'm dropping it.
This is now the third or fourth time I've picked up a title simply because Giffen and DeMatteis were teaming up on it, and I loved the old JLI so much.
This is now the third or fourth time I've been dreadfully disappointed by those titles.
I... I think they've used up their cred with me. They are never going to recreate that magic, and I'm never going to be happy with one of their books if they don't. Separately, I still enjoy their work, but my expectations when they come together are never going to be met.
Ok you guys are going to tell me I suck, but this is for all the parents in CGSland.
My little girl (our 1st) is about to turn 2 months old. She's always been an amazing sleeper at night, she would sleep 3 hrs, wake up to be held/eat for 30 minutes, and then sleep for another 4-5 hrs. I would never, ever complain about her sleeping habits at night.
Last week my wife got this book by 2 nurses about scheduling your baby and she has slept from 930/10pm to 6am (without waking up) for a week straight. It's the greatest/luckiest thing ever.
Anyway I had to brag about my wife getting her on the schedule and getting my already champ sleeper to go for the gold. My wife's awesome.

You can't go home again.
I've been down this road. I've loved more of their work than I've hated, but they've used up a lot of credit with me over the years. They'll always be among my favorite creators, but even my most beloved of creative people is capable of producing a stinker or three...or four... :)
That stinks but on the flip side if this means my daughter might be able to read WW now, I'm ok with it.
What's objectionable now that you expect to change?
When the New 52 WW started, I didn't find it objectional per se, just not suitable for my then 9 year old girl to read and there are a lot of comic reading parents out there that have the same thought.
I'm just hopeful that maybe with this change she will be able to read new stuff because she's burned through the old stuff. Eventually I'll let her read Cliff and Brian's run, just chalk it up to my style of parenting. As bad as my son wanted to read Deadpool when he was 11 and 12, I made him wait until he turned 13 and i still look through the books before I let him have them.

All right then, what's unsuitable? (He asked curiously, not combatively.)

Happy 25th Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.
I was 8 when I came out and have been fan ever since. I still watch the two movies at least once a year.

What a remarkable life she lived.

What are the issues people seem to have with Finch? (like WR said, curious, not combative).
