Since we're a week away I couldn't find a thread. I will be the first to admit I know nothing about the characters only that they appear in the X-Men universe.

The reason why I'm excited for this is it was created by Noah Hawley who gave us Fargo. And FX's track record is pretty stellar.

I need to go back and rewatch. I really liked the first half hour which is when the first commercial break kicked in. I closed my eyes for what I thought was a few minutes and realized it was about 2 in the morning. The lesson, I can't watch most things after 9 because I usually end up falling asleep

I rewatched the rest and while indeed fantastic I thought the most superhero-y part was the least interesting.

Didn't think much of it. "Weird for the sake of being weird". Visually interesting, to be sure...but hollow.

Watched the second episode. It's definitely out there, and not everything worked for me(Aubrey Plaza's character). But I do appreciate that it's trying something a little different from the norm.

I stuck with Mr. Robot season 2 even when I was totally confused, and that seems like good preparation for this show. I like it but wouldn't be able to explain the plot.

Essentially my thoughts exactly. It really just felt like they were trying so dang hard to be "weird". The $$ was definitely on the screen. The sets and such were great and the designers etc deserve lots of praise. But personally most of the story and such seemed kindve "tired" to me. Ohh look how weird, confusing, cryptic and creepy this is. And the flustered stammering performance of the star to invoke "crazy" wore on me quick along with the "edgy" abrasive fellow patient/friend. Just feel I've seen it and seen it enough. The whispering and voices in the head thing got annoying too (regardless of whether or not that's the point). I know nothing of the source material. I was also confused by the retro style? Well done but an odd choice and confusing. Mostly Good acting and directing. Interesting enough to try more but not invested yet or really into it.

One thing has been consistent Dan Stevens has been terrific. I'm hoping he becomes a major star after this and Beauty and the Beast.

Oh and another thing, check out a movie he did called The Guest. It's fantastic.

After seeing The Guest, I think he could be the next Bond... or even the next Bond villain.

Tomorrow is the season finale(and it's also been renewed) If someone asked me describe this show I'd be at an absolute loss for words. But I've really dug it.

It's very "different". I'm only 3 episodes in, but sticking with it. Slow burner but i'm positive it will pay off

I am very happy he his the Shadow King, and it was pretty easy once you learned his imaginary Dogs name was King. Any X-Men fan should have known then.
