Seriously, what the deuce? I get out of the loop for a couple months* and all hell breaks loose? Oy. I've met Mike on a couple occasions, can't say I have a negative feeling about the fella. Well... if you discount he's a fan of Mike Deodato... but I digress. Heh.
This is Bryan's baby after all. It's his to powder, diaper and discipline. He can show us the baby photos and he can listen to suggestions on how to raise his kid. In the end, it's his crotchfruit. It's his call. He doesn't owe an explanation to me or any other listener... and I've been listening as long as anyone here. I'm sure all the sordid details will come to light, they most always do. If his parenting style bothers you, you can choose not to look at the baby pictures anymore.

Nobody (other than the geeks, I assume.... although I think Mike said that he doesn't even know John's last name, so maybe they don't either) knew that John existed before this.
a) how the Geeks have chosen to structure their commercial dealings is none of the listeners business. We're listeners, not shareholders or even customers. If you don't like that fact then my suggestion would be not to listen...simple.
b) John's involvement is in no way the big secret that it seems to be being painted as. Just because someone doesn't tell you something, that doesn't mean it's a secret. It just means they've chosen not to tell you for some reason, such as answer a)
c) Having only met Bryan a few times even I find the idea that he gets a mysterious "smoking man" phonecall ordering him to drop someone from the show for no reason and does just that as utterly laughable. I'm not getting the "Deemer as a puppet" thing, I've met few people more strong-willed than Bryan.
There is obviously more to this than is public. We all complained when Peter left and the guys didn't put out an official line to the listeners in short order. This time I think they've bent over backwards trying to be professional about it and still all they get is complaints. Thus proving the adage you're damned if you do, and damned if you don't.

My FB account has been carpet-bombed with notifications and PMs since this went down. I didn't reply to those feeling the forum was a better outlet to say my piece. As good a reason as any to come back to the ol' neighborhood.
@gargoyle I think you're missing my point. You are correct that its their business to run as they see fit. Mike has said on fb that he was told not to speak of John which again is their business and if that's how they run it that's fine. But mike was also told that John received anonymous complaints about Mike and his behavior. So if John is supposed to be a secret then who complained to him (and conveniently wants to remain anonymous - all the multiple people)? Again running a business in any way they see fit is none of my concern. Lying to my friend is.
I can't believe all this speculation and stuff is still going on. It's like watching a soap.
I mean, yeah I'm gonna miss Mike. He was great on the show. But he's gone now. We can listen to him in other places if we want and we can still listen to CGS.
