It doesn't seem like you did. But it's hard for us people out here, that are not in-the-know, to know whether or not CGS is thought of as a business or not. Good point to make.

Since people are talking on this forum again, and Peter's "back" I guess it's time to start downloading episodes and listening again and actually showing up to the forums.
Wow, I couldn't have thought of a worse way to "put all of this behind us" than for Peter Rios to start posting in this thread every five minutes.
And you guys wonder why the forum indulges in conspiracy theories? And you guys wonder why there is so much sympathy for Mike, since, for whatever reason (maybe good reasons!), you guys won't really say why he was kicked off? If you won't say WHY, then there is going to be sympathy for Mike and you guys are going to sorta look like jerks, no matter what. The only half-formed reasons we've gotten don't really make sense from an (admitted) outsider's perspective. Mike was using CGS to push his career? Well, maybe, but he barely mentioned it on the show and I never saw any of his art on the forum even though he posted quite often. It wasn't like he was shoving it in our faces. So if that allegation is true, it doesn't make sense to us. And everyone on all sides of the issue is just going to have to deal with the fact that it doesn't make sense to the listeners.
The bottom line, of course, is that you don't have to explain any of this to us. Maybe that's the best decision, but if so then you are still going to have to put up with the consequences of listeners thinking somewhat less of CGS (and related parties). It's kind of ironic that in order to act professional about this, CGS is effectively protecting Mike and making themselves look bad... when Mike is supposed to be the bad guy, since he got the boot. The PERCEPTION of this is pretty crappy, but maybe it's the best you guys could do. Maybe.
If booting Mike was a professional decision -- and maybe it was -- then why is Peter, who is no longer involved in CGS, so involved in this?
If Peter is "taking the high road" then why were at least two of his podcasts this week basically devoted to dancing on Mike's figurative grave? (Let's be honest, Peter, you only answered an old question from David D because it gave you a chance to take yet another passive-aggressive shot at Mike. And the "Game Over" video game noises? Pretty damn sad and petty that you took the time to do that. Why even take the shot? Why does it mean so much to you? As a podcaster, I've enjoyed your talents and your opinions more than I have Mike's, actually. But you're starting to seem just as negative and snotty as the comics critics you've so rightly taken to task. Take that for what it's worth -- just the opinion of a casual listener. I've listened the Daily Rios about six times. I've looked at your Twitter twice. I liked you better when you were on CGS. There's too much weird, know-it-all, narcissistic behavior coming from you lately. Someone who acts as though he leads an awesomely charmed life, loves his job, has a great girlfriend and all these real-life friends everywhere he goes should NOT be on Twitter all the time taking shots at people or frequenting this thread of a forum. I thought you moved on a long time ago. Did Mike accidentally kill your dog or something? We don't get why you hate him. Maybe there's a good reason, but we just sense the unexplained hate, coming from you.)
Honestly, I'd have more respect if CGS just said "Hey, we're kicking Mike off because some of us don't like him. We could exaggerate some things and make it seem like there are reasons for letting him go, but the bottom line is that after nearly two years of being on the show, some influential people just don't like him, still. It just wasn't working out. Also, now Peter is more likely to visit the show again, and we can all agree that when it comes down to it, Peter will always trump Mike in the CGS hierarchy." Blunt as that would have been, it would have been better than how the situation has been dealt with.
But, again, maybe there are good reasons. Maybe Mike is a really bad guy. But, just to let you know: Yeah, the perception of this? Not going CGS's way. I think if Bryan Deemer's initial statement was the be-all and end-all of this, then it would have been fairly fine. But Peter's antics this past week make this whole thing seem like a really crappy thing to do to Mike. I feel bad for Mike and I feel bad for Bryan for having to deal with this. I guess I would feel bad for any hypothetical industry people who Mike hypothetically bothered to an inordinate extent.
That's my two cents. Well, maybe closer twenty cents. I won't be posting in this thread again, because it doesn't mean that much to me, so anyone I've offended can just take whatever snarky potshot they want to take in order to make themselves feel better.
It's sad when this stuff happens and it's sad when friends have to go their separate ways. Even if not all of those involved in this were really friends, per se, it's still sad. For the rest of us, it's just puzzling.

I won't quote the whole post again, but "Elsiebub" nailed it. I read that Mr. Deemer said something along the lines of it being frustrating that people are speculating about things and don't know the whole story. I am sure it is, but when only one side is talking, that's the outcome you're going to get, unfortunately. It's obvious that Mike has his fair share of support here on the forum, and it was said before that things were amicable with Mike upon his leaving, but the way Peter is acting paint a very different picture.
Anyway, I hope everyone involved reads Elsiebub's post, it is spot on. I don't have a horse in this race, I wish the very best for all involved, it's just a little sad to see how it's taken a bit of a downhill turn the last day or so, that's all.
