Marvel's Monsters Unleashed

I am very much looking forward to Marvel's Monsters Unleashed event coming this January.
It looks to be some good, old-fashioned comic goofiness that promises lots of smashing and crashing. I have always been a fan of obscure characters and have my fingers crossed that Marvel digs through the vaults to revived some of the lesser known, and underused beasts from the archives, along with their more famous creatures.

Some giant Monsters from Marvel's past have made it big time - Groot & Devil Dinosaur get a lot of ink these days. I loved the Godzilla series from back in the '70s. I'm hoping to see an appearance of Skrag The Living Hill, It! The Living Colossus, Glob, and of course Fin Fang Foom (my girls have a pet lizard named after Fin). Hope to see Red Ronin show up to help contain some of these beasties.

Which Marvel Monster is your favourite? Which D-list creature are you hoping to see?

Most of those monsters were fairly interchangeable, but there were some standouts. I have to go obvious with this one and say Fin Fang Foom. First, I think he has the ultimate Marvel name. I mean, it’s pure alliteration. Plus he has has fins, he has fangs, and foom is a great sound effect (not to mention the name of a Marvel fanzine, formally known as Friends of Ol’ Marvel). And he has a great design.

Not to mention a kick ass 16" Build-A-Figure. I'm happy that I was able to find all the parts to build my own.

I'm looking forward to reprinted Kirby monster stuff that will inevitably start coming out.

I don’t have a ton of action figures, and only a handful of Marvel figures, but I’ve got this one. It’s Kirby-rific.

Those Fin Fang Foom action figures are great... but where are the purple underoos?

I know, right? I almost didn't get it because of that. No, seriously. But this came from the toy line for that awful '90s Iron Man animated series. Probably the only good thing to come from that series.

I wonder if this is any kind of rehash of the scrapped DESTROY! mini series..
