Boys, the wife and kids got the books moved and shelved.

I started on the comic collection. First with all my unboxed comics, then the short boxes. I'm about halfway done with going through the boxes and separating them into marvel, DC and other.

Right there with you, @sandman. It's easy to talk at people on FB and YT, but very difficult to talk with people.

I think that is very thoughtfully and well-put.

Sorry for the length of this post. I've been a listener since episode 1 and have held off on commenting about recent events until now. The TLDR version is this is just one listener's opinion, so feel free to scroll past if you want.

As a brand, I have always felt that CGS, at its core, was listening to a bunch of friends get together to talk about comics. I had a friend group like that in college and recently, I learned that one of those friends had passed away without me knowing. I regret that we drifted apart as our "real lives" got in the way of us getting together and talking comics.

Over the years, I have had CGS cast combinations that I have preferred over others. When Jamie D passed, I lost the person I most identified with on CGS, but I kept listening. I had never attended a Super Show, but was envious of those who did because CGS was touted as being about the community that was built vs it just being a podcast.

The founder of the podcast can certainly make decisions about the direction of the show. IMHO, there was a real opportunity here to have one place where fans could go to hear different voices talk about topics they care about. My comic group of friends would split off often when one subset played D&D and others played the Marvel Super Heroes RPG. But we always came together to talk comics.

If Paramount+ could host Discovery and Strange New Worlds, the CGS feed could have been the home for multiple casts. But it's ultimately not my podcast.

In general, I believe competition is good and maybe both Comic Timing and Comic Geek Speak become better as a result of this messy separation. But CGS being a community first vs just a podcast is probably a large reason why this emotionally hits some listeners (and cast members) harder than others.

In the end, if these are "just podcasts," I'll probably listen to both CGS and CT going forward, skipping episodes I don't care for and listening to those I do care for. I do listen to several geek-related podcasts, so logistically, this is no change for me.

If you haven't watched the 15th Anniversary Super Zoom, I invite you to do so. There's even a comment by a listener that mentions getting together for the 20th Annivesary!

It was conducted during the time of the pandemic, so it's interesting to hear the comments members of the multiple interations of the cast in light of recent events. Click here for an excerpt from it at the 1 hour and 18 minute mark that I found quite ironic and sad. But that's just me.

I appreciate your efforts. I've been mostly a lurker on here, but have preferred an "independent" forum vs. the Facebook group.

Insomnia flared up. Saw I had the Black Label printings of the Moore run on Swamp Thing. And over 3 nights read all of the first 3 vols and halfway thru vol 4,Just got to the Crisis issue.

Ok yea I read these back when I was way to young,had to be 9 or 10 when it started. Re-read it maybe in the late 90s. But never in order since it was being published. Catching so much this re-read.

Why can't we get a long run on a monthly title with no delays?

I have said it on the show but I am loving the Energon universe!!!

@Bryan I just turned on Federative sharing on our Threads account, and will attempt to post there more often as well. We've also been posting the Best of ballot to Instagram and the YouTube Community page. In the future, I may also be able to share a Google Doc with the nominees as a link on the episode release as well.

Finally, there's a chance we might create a Discord server at some point down the road, but that's not an immediacy; stay tuned.

Mulvihill is a great colorist, she's just never been in my top five. This year I'd put Jason Wordie’s coloring on Wes Craig’s creator-owned Kaya at the top of the heap.

It's a short month, better get to reading comics now.
