Wolverine and the X-Men question

I'm sure there are lots of people reading this so, the preview at comicsalliance makes the latest issue look like a comedy book. Has the series been a more light-hearted book than the usual "grim 'n gritty" stuff you'd expect with Wolverine? This issue has Doop!

there is humor in the book but with the new hellfire club leaders it's definitely not a kids book

I've only read about half the issues of the series. It is not always a Bwah-ha-ha book, but there is definitely an effort to get more laughs. In the first two issues of the book, I thought that effort was a bit strained, which is why I dropped it for awhile. But I would say in the AvX tie-in issues I've read the creative team have done a better job of striking that balance. There is humor but it seems more effortless.

If you enjoyed X-Statix, the recent Allred issue with the focus on Doop is pure Gold.

I definitely wouldn't characterize it as comedy, but more of a quirky book.
You can definitely tell that much of this was swimming around in Jason's Aaron's imagination, and as difficult as this can be with the X-Men at times, much of it is innovative.

Well I went ahead and jumped into this series. I discovered Panini in the UK have a trade which has the first 7 issues for about the same price as Marvel's first trade of 1-4, nice.
