Enjoying the show. Wanted to commend Murd, once more, for his wealth of knowledge - specifically when he discussed the old(now new) character of Stalker and the work done by Ditko on that title. Immediately, I went to Lone Star comics to find this and put on my want list and discovered that not only did Steve Ditko pencil those 4 issues, but Paul Levitz wrote them and Wally Wood was the inker. Not sure how anyone could go wrong with that creative team.

Thanks for dropping the knowledge on us, Murd. Again.

Well, it was Wally Wood after he stopped caring about the work he did, and he had his assistants do a lot of the inking for him, so it was far from his best output. But otherwise....

The standout this month for me is Paul Pope’s One Trick Rip-off/Deep-Cuts. And I may get the García-López Superman collection, even though I have most of the issues.

I, too, have most of the issues in that Superman Vs. Shazam book (even the tabloid), but I'm ordering it anyway. I figure if I want more classic Captain Marvel / Marvel Family material out of DC, I need to buy the stuff they do put out! Besides, most of these stories are really good and it will be a treat to read them again in a handy, don't-have-to-fish-them-out-of-the-boxes format.

Other then my usual haul, I'm picking up the Mars Attacks Ghostbusters one shot. Think that will be 'real' good fun.

Also really happy that after so long The Dark Tower: Sheemies Tale has finally been resolicited, and as a two issue arc to boot! Good stuff.

It's MLP merchandise aimed specifically at the Brony market. In other words, a man's wallet bearing the likeness of a character created to entertain 6-year-old girls.

I know MLP has wide-ranging appeal now, and if people outside of the normal fanbase like it, that's awesome. Enjoy what you enjoy, says I. But you take that out to pay for something at the supermarket, prepare to get questions. Lots of awkward questions.

John Bryne. Highways. This was mentioned on this episode of CGS. Where can I find out more about the Highways series in general, and this upcoming Bryne Highways project?

Yep. A friends wife is one of the animators on MLP and is baffled by the adult male fanbase. A few months back one of them met her and was shocked that she had never watched an episode.

I have many friends who are gaga over the show. I finally saw a couple of episodes this past weekend. It's not bad and I can see the appeal.

this is such a thin month for me.... outside of my usual's (Batman books, Lantern books) there's not much really thrilling me this month. The only tempting Shelf Porn is the Complete Flash Gordon Library 1934-37, I've loved to get into Alex Raymond stuff, and this looks like a beautiful collection...

All right, for the first time, I'm going to try and get all of the off-the-racks for this month: Star Wars (since I haven't read a Star Wars comic for AGES!), Threshold (since I'm curious about the Guardians of the Galaxy association ), and X-Factor 250 (just an interesting choice). It's a great feeling to hear you guys go over books that I've read. Sort of feels like I'm having a little chat with you abou them. I'll probably get the Marvel bundle since I'm kind of hooked now. By the way PANTS?: How much is that Marvel Bundle from DCBS?: $"FIFTY-TWO!".35....In addition, I'll probably go back to Aquaman and Justice League. What the hey! Get Hellboy #2. Hawkeye #7 and Daredevil 22 look awesome! I dropped Rachel Rising (just moving too slow for me), Flash, Batman Incorporated and all the Green Lantern books. Oh, and I'm loving Peanuts from BOOM!
