Right so im doing Christmas shopping for a guy I like, and he said he would like some form of Cyberpunk, Steampunky kinda comics or Graphic novels:3
He already has :
planet hulk
world war hulk
the boys
umbrella academy both of them
and hellblazer.
And doesnt want: transmetropolitian
Please someone help me out I really want impress him haha

How about Girl Genius by Phil and Kaja Foglio? If he doesn't like that, you get to keep the book for yourself. That way, at least one of you is going to come out ahead.

I second Girl Genius and The Professor's Daughter for steampunky stuff.

The Adele Blanc-Sec books by Jaque Tardi (recently re-released by Fantagraphics) might scratch that itch, too.

For something more cyberpunky, the two Terminal City mini-series from Vertigo, released in one volume by Dark Horse as The Compleat Terminal City, would also probably do. I read those as they were coming out and they were great.

How did I forget Terminal City? The first story is stronger than the second, but they were both quite good.

I don’t know if I’d classify Adele Blanc-Sec or LoEG as steampunk, but they’re close enough, I suppose, particularly the first LoEG series. Going by his collection, LoEG is probably the better bet of the two.

The mention of Terminal City made me think of one of the best cyberpunk-ish comics of all: Mister X. Mister X has been collected a couple of times fairly recently, so should be easy enough to find.

You might want to try to track down a copy of the "Neuromancer" graphic novel from Epic comics. It is a decent adaptation of the classic novel.

Ive narrowed it down too Mister X Archives:3 But its damn expensive!
Is it worth it?
Or if I cant buy the Archives, which one is the Original series there is loads to choose from.

The original series ran from 1983 to 1985. The Hernandez Bros. wrote and drew the first four issues, and Dean Motter wrote the rest, with art by Seth.

I'm a little late to the conversation, so you may not be looking for more suggestions, but Warren Ellis has some excellent steampunky works that I don't think have come up yet. One of them, which is very inexpensive (partly because it is a 48 page graphic novella) is Aetheric Mechanics. I remember it having gorgeous art. And is very steampunky.

You'd be well served by starting out with the Hernandez brothers. Jaime's artwork is awesome!
