what to buy?

Hi everyone, I'm a big fan of the podcast. I'm looking for help in deciding what to buy at the comic store. My question is "if you could only buy 3 comics a week, what would they be"? I am currently buying Batman, Swamp Thing, Justice League, New X-Men, Amazing Spiderman, Uncanny Avengers and Avengers. I will most likely try the new JLA for a few issues when it comes out. I am only interested in DC or Marvel title. Thanks again.

Three comics a week...so 12 total? Only Marvel/DC?

Of the books I'm currently buying from Marvel and DC I'd pick these 12:

Hawkeye
Daredevil
World's Finest
Earth 2
Justice League Dark
Fantastic Four
FF
Batman
Indestructible Hulk
Action Comics
Swamp Thing
Avengers

There are other books coming down the road that might make the list then..it's fluid.

I'd also recommend checking out titles from other publishers..you are missing out on some kick butt comics by limiting yourself to just Marvel/DC.

I definitely agree with this. If I was limited to only three titles a week, twelve a month, probably only two of them would be Marvel or DC, unless you're counting Vertigo and Icon. Assuming we can count Vertigo and Icon I'd say:

Fables
Unwritten
Casanova
Hawkeye
Daredevil
Indestructible Hulk
Batman Inc.
Winter Soldier

After that I'd try a couple of the new Marvel books. Maybe:
Savage Wolverine (for Frank Cho)
Wolverine (for the Alan Davis art)
FF (for the weirdness and the Allred art)
Nova (looks like it might be fun, and the McGuiness art will be cool)

Powers: Bureau, Batman, Saucer Country

Week Three

Hawkeye, I, Vampire, Lot 13

Thanks everyone for your responses and advice. I Do intend to pick up Daredevil and will buy the next X-Factor story line. I also like Earth2 and World' Finest though I don't buy them on a regular basis.

I am really enjoying Image the most right now but as far as DC/Marvel go, I would say Hawkeye, A+X, and Deadpool. Hawkeye and A+X because I enjoy self contained stories. One adventure, in and out. The 6 issue arcs sometimes bore the crap out of me. Deadpool I find hilarious.
