Batman events of the 90s/00s

I'm trying to put together a list of the big Batman crossover storylines from Knightfall to War Crimes, since I may want to track down the trades if possible (I do have all this stuff in single issues). I know some or all of it could be out of print, but anyway, the list as I see it so far from comicbookdb.com...

In order:
Knightfall
Knightquest
Knightsend
Prodigal
Contagion
Legacy
Cataclysm
Aftershock - Doesn't seem to ever have been collected.
Road to No Man's Land - Doesn't seem to ever have been collected.
No Man's Land
Officer Down
Bruce Wayne - Murderer?
Bruce Wayne - Fugitive
War Games
City of Crime
War Crimes

I'm ignoring things like Hush, which ran in one title without crossing over, and also things like Long Halloween which were separate mini-series. Am I missing anything important?

  • Be careful - the trades for some of those crossovers (particularly No Man's Land) are missing a lot of issues.
  • Yeah, that's always been one of my gripes about the collections. They're nice enough, but always tend to be incomplete. I have the first editions of the Knightfall storyline -- two volumes of Knightfall and Knight's End -- Knightquest had been ignored for years, and I'm not sure if even now it's the complete Knightquest, which would have included crossovers with The Outsiders and Justice League Task Force.

The Knightquest collection is missing issues of the "The Search" portion of the series.

I think its stupid, but KnightsEnd collection includes the Prodigal storyline.

Do the new editions of the 'Knight' collections and No Man's Land have the full story? Or just enough of the main parts to be good enough?
  • I think they contain enough of the story to make for a good sitting, and it can certainly be easier than pulling out all of the individual issues to read. But if you want the full story, along with all of the crossovers, direct and tangential, you're better off with the original issues.
  • Yeah, they are better than the first try DC produced, but still lacking.
