I didn't play CoC myself, but I know it was a big deal back in the day. And, I think it is fair to say, was a big part of a new generation of genre and literature fans discovering Lovecraft.
The game he made probably provided many hours of entertainment, and maybe a few nightmares or jumps in the dark, to users around here. RIP.
