Spoilery Question about Spider-Men mini-series

Just read the hardcover collecting the Spider-Men mini-series that teams up the 616 Peter Parker with the current Ultimate Spidey, Miles Morales. It was alright, I suppose, but kinda slight (glad I got it through the library instead of buying it... read the entire thing in about half of my lunch break), and I'm confused about one thing: which Mysterio am I reading about here, the 616 or the Ultimate? It's never really clear, since although he's based in 616 for most of this, he talks about missing out on Peter getting killed the first time and now wants to take care of that. He also knows about Miles's version of Spidey before he actually meets him.

So does anyone know which one this is? Do you think Bendis even knew? Are we even supposed to care?

Ultimate Mysterio was an android created and controlled by the 616 Mysterio.

Quite frankly whichever Mysterio it was seemed almost besides the point. There was a mini series that could have been done with the White Rabbit as the villain. It was just a set up to get the character scenes we wanted. I am no follower of the Ultimate universe but I enjoyed this story so much more than I expected. I recommend it to any Spiderman fan regardless of universe.

Yeah. He committed suicide.

And is now apparently back from the dead. It hasn't been explained.

I really enjoyed this, felt like it gave some closure to Ultimate Peter Parker's story lines. Plus it got Miles some webshooters. Now we just have to find out who Mile's Morales is in 616.

Well, he is Mysterio... I really enjoyed this series too. I wasn't expecting much out of it, but then issue three or four came out where ultimate Aunt May sees an all grown Peter and that was it. I wonder how she would feel now that Peter is, well...
