It's been a long time coming, but at long last the Red Panda is making his comic book debut on February 27. "
Mask of the Red Panda" #1 (of 3) will be published exclusively on Comixology by MonkeyBrain Comics.
The comic book will be written by Red Panda creator Gregg Taylor with art by Dean Kotz, and feature 32 b&w pages for $0.99.
For those unaware, the Red Panda and his sidekick, the Flying Squirrel, have been defending 1930s-40s Toronto from the forces of evil in their own podcast audio drama series since 2005. In the spirit of the Old Time Radio and Pulp heroes like the Green Hornet and the Shadow, "The Red Panda Adventures" is the flagship show of the
Decoder Ring Theatre podcast. The series is a blast (and so is its sister show, "Black Jack Justice," also created and written by Gregg Taylor). Taylor has written every episode (90 to date), as well as three "Tales of the Red Panda" novels (with a fourth on the way), in his Panda-verse prior to this mini-series, and every adventure takes place in a single continuity. If you're a fan of Golden Age radio, pulps, or comics, you will likely love the Red Panda.

And yeah, Monkeybrain is kinda the perfect place for a book like this. Bandette was one of my favorite comics in any format last year, and that has at least a little bit in common with the Red Panda!
