Nick Spencer's plan for the awesome-sounding Supergirl run he didn't get to write

You can read all about it here (and see an awesome unused Amy Reeder cover that kinda homages Justice League #1), but basically Kara would have found herself leading a team of Batgirl (Steph), Robin (Damian), Blue Beetle (Jaime), Static, Miss Martian, Impulse (Wally's daughter), and others, and he had hopes it'd be a sort of "backdoor pilot" for a new Young Justice.

I find it frustrating when the comics we could have gotten sound so much better than the comics we actually did get.

Normally I don't get pissed at the whole New 52 thing. I find things I like about it, read those things, and don't support the things I don't.

This story pisses me off to no end! :)

Did Nick Spencer write any Supergirl at all, or was this just his pitch for the series? Sterling Gates and Jamal Igle were doing an OUTSTANDING job on the book, and what Spencer discusses would have been a great direction from the groundwork Gates and Igle put down.

I think Spencer got one issue in. He dropped off immediately afterwards for the reasons stated above.
