Its funny how they're bringing up how she's a Barbie type & setting high standards for women. Like seeing 'Sexiest Man Alive' doesn't include a bit about how so & so keeps his appearance. Plus, with all the other outlets for women to compare themselves (Cosmo for example), this angle is really a non-story.

The real story is how GP is considered the 'Most Beautiful Woman.' Who made this call? I'd say she's not even in my top 200.

Agreed 1,000% with @SolitaireRose on that. I don't mind Gwyneth at all but she's not the standard I would set for beauty and I think the media makes a bigger deal about this kind of stuff than they should.

It sold issues. That was the point. Next year look for me to be their "Most Beautiful Woman". :)

And nothing against Gwynneth. She's not bad on the eyes at all, but I wouldn't necessarily put her at the top of my list.

I agree. Not on the top of my list either. She's not bad on the eyes though but not on the top of the list. As for selling issues, I guess that's a valid point and I have nothing against people who buy that or the sexiest male issue or anything like that. I just don't like the example it sets for people who don't have realize that most magazines have images touched up a bit to enhance the picture to make the person look better. This is not me saying that the touching up makes them beautiful. Gwynneth is beautiful but that doesn't mean there isn't a imaging specialist enhancing the lighting or opening up her outfit to get more detail or punching up the color to make her stand out a bit or whitening her eyes and teeth to make them look better.

Iron Man movie is the first time I was ever able to stand GP. Even there I find her only barely attracteive/appealing. As said, hundreds of bigger and smaller female stars vastly more interesting and physically attractive IMO. I love redheads and I dont think GP is "ugly", just very plain and uninteresting. These lists are as absurd as peoples reactions to them.

I feel like this is People's way of just saying the "It" girl/woman of the moment. It was bound to cause controversy. She's actually one of the most hated celebrities.
