TV News: Disney XD's Star Wars Rebels.

The successor to Star Wars: The Clone Wars has been announced and it will be called Star Wars Rebels. The new series will be set during the years between Episode III and Episode IV and follow "the adventures of the Rebel Alliance as they attempt to evade the growing might of the Empire".

Simon Kinberg, who is working on the upcoming Star Wars films, will serve as writer and executive producer of the pilot. Rebels will debut in fall 2014 as a one-hour special on Disney Channel before making the move to Disney XD.

Dave Filoni, showrunner of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and Greg Weisman, showrunner of Young Justice, will serve as executive producers of the new series and will likely be co-showrunners.

has potential due to the talent involved. I just personally want to see something new and unexpected. Something where we dont already know all the essential highlights. Like something far in the future or past and or just different. I dont want anymore clones and please no more droid enemies / soldiers. I may be alont but I also hope for a new and different art style.

Well, I think you're out of luck so far as the clones are concerned. If I'm not mistaken, after the Empire emerges they become the more familiar troopers, the army that supports the Emperor.

Since it takes place after Star Wars III, that would mean that Anakin would have descended into his role as Darth Vader and would now rise to become one of the primary villains of this series. Most of the familiar faces from the Clone Wars are likely dead -- some, we know are dead -- and everyone else is on the run. Yoda probably shouldn't make any appearances at all, since he's gone into hiding.

I guess the one major one being Asohka.

Well, it's called Rebels and that alone has me excited. Writers in the past, when referring to this time period, have focused on the purging of the Jedi. The early struggles of the newly formed rebellion haven't been touched on much at all. There is a lot of untapped story potential here.

Just watched it and I thought it was pretty good. I think it could be a nice change of pace not having characters like Aniken or Luke in the story. Focusing on a completely different set of characters so you can basically do whatever you want with them except like defeating Vader.

And it's nice to finally have something set after Episode 3.
