Outside of the normal monthly haul...

    Itty Bitty Hellboy #1
DC Universe vs Masters of the Universe #1
East of West TP Vol 1
    Steampunk Corsairs #1
    Rachel Rising TP Vol 3
    Infinity #1
    Pathfinder Adventure Card Game

I'd like to get the 70's Ms. Marvel statue from Bowen. The beating I'd take from the wife is worth it, right?

I like Adventures of Superman (and Legends of the Dark Knight, too), but DC is definitely upcharging those of us who want "traditional" Superman (or Batman) stories instead of the New 52 stuff with those $3.99 cover prices. Unfortunately, I do want those sorts of stories badly enough that I'm willing to do it (and don't want to get them digitally since I only have a phone, not a tablet).

I feel like I should be annoyed that the Batman Incorporated Special is written by Chris Burnham instead of Morrison, but the Burnham-written issue last month focusing on the Batman of Japan was really good, and it reminded me of what I enjoyed so much about the first run that has been missing from this one, and that's the tighter focus on the other members of Batman Inc., so I'm actually looking forward to this.

Now there's a book that I completely missed when looking through this month's solicitations: First Kingdom, vol 1, by Jack Katz, published by Titan Comics. This was one of the first self-published comics of the 70's, may have even predated either Cerebus or Elfquest. The art was very much on the rough side, but reaching for a Jack Kirby-esque plateau in terms of epic storytelling. (I think, if I remember correctly, that Katz may have been employed at one time by the Simon & Kirby studio.) It's not Kirby by any means, but Katz was definitely trying for that level of imagination. I remember it being a fascinating series, and I don't think I ever saw how it ended. I wish I had seen this before I sent in my order; I'll have to wait and see if it's still available next month -- and if I can spare enough cash for it. Now or later, this is definitely going on my list.

Just now listening because it's time to submit my Previews order to DCBS! Wow, you guys found A LOT of typos in the catalogue. I didn't even notice 'em the first time through. It's bad, but then again...how many people actually buy and read Previews? Maybe they feel it's not enough to justify hiring a GOOD proofreader. Heh-heh...
Anyway, thank you for doing this episode. It ALWAYS helps me a lot!
