Banned?

Just received a notification from Bryan Deemer of Comic Geek Speak that I have been unbanned from the forums. I stopped posting here well over a year ago when my mother began her health issues. At some point between my not posting and now, I seemed to have been banned. Why is that? How can one be banned when one has not posted anything to be banned for? Very confused.

the forums went down, hacked and all were banned, we brought it back up and reinstated all accounts thus the email
