Marvel One-Shot on the Iron Man 3 Blu-ray

I just watched Iron Man 3 for the first time and really loved the movie. There was an extra feature on the disc called Marvel One Shot Agent Carter. This was a short film about Peggy and it was eccelent. Usually with straigt to video or TV series made content you can see a drastic difference in the quality of production but this was not only a fun to watch but the quality was pretty much on par with the theatrical films.

What did you guys thik of it? I hope there will be more like it.

  • I enjoyed it quite a lot. How is the SHIELD bit inaccurate, Matt? It's helping to build the foundation for SHIELD's history in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is obviously quite different than the original comic book history of SHIELD.

The organization didn't become known as SHIELD until after Iron Man fought Iron Monger. Remember when Coulson kept saying the organization's name and Pepper said it was a mouthful? He didn't say "SHIELD" until Pepper started to say the full name right before Tony's press conference.

Now if Howard would've said Carter was going to run a new "Strategic Homeland" security agency with him, I'd be fine with it.

  • Thank you for the article link, I did not realize there was another one on the Avengers DVD as I watched that on demand. I might have to rent it from netflix on disc so I can see it.

Im confident that was simply for the benefit of the audience who wouldn't understand "shield" and the fans that would. You think after a couple of exchanges with some lady, a high ranking Rep with a Gov agency nearly 70 years old, created around, and likely inspired by (if not named after the shield wielding hero Capt. America) hes suddenly struck with the epiphany the initials spell "shield"? Then he successfully convinces them to formally change the name to the abbreviation ala KFC?

Don't you get tired of 'them' dumbing it down for newbies? The newbies should ask questions like we did when we were new, long before all the resource outlets at our disposal.

And I'd rather a time lost Cap mentioning it. I'm just saying the devil is in the details!

Speaking of Marvel TV shows, whatever happened to the talk of a Hulk series be returning to broadcast television?
