Jamal Igle's Molly Danger

I just got Molly Danger book one in my DCBS box. I love the huge oversize hardcover format. Not quite as big as a "treasury edition" but I believe it is a European format like the old Asterix & Obelix comics. My only complaint is I wanted more. I may need taller shelves but I don't care the art just shines. It is big and beautiful. Anybody else putting out books like this? It makes me want to invest in the Artist Editions.

  • IDW did an edition of Doug Wildey's Rio that was essentially an artist edition without the artist edition fanfare, and at a smaller size than the rest.

I believe Action Lab's Vamplets is similar in size to Molly Danger. The production on the book is gorgeous, and the contents are pretty great, too.

Huh. I've never heard of Vamplets. What's the story on those?

Vamplets isn't quite as large as Molly, but is larger than a standard sized comic. Also a hardcover as well.

Glad you guys are digging our stuff. Might I allow this to serve as a welcoming statement asking that other folks in the DCBS crowd to give Action Lab books a shot? I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the quality of book we are putting out. And it is only going to get better.

Sorry @JamieD I haven't listened to the podcast regularly since I moved last November. I went from a hour drive each way to about 4 minutes. I've oddly been participating more in the forums since then. I guess I can do it in smaller chunks. I went back and listened to the farewell to Pants episode but that's about it. Doesn't mean I'm not a fan.

I'm a little annoyed that as a Kickstarter backer I'm still waiting for my copy. Those of us who went to bat early for this project(and weren't able to make an east coast con) are stuck hearing about how good the book is from others. Sure, I have the PDF(and it looks beautiful) but I'd like my first reading to be the large HC. I'm not angry and I understand Jamal is a busy guy...I just wish the KS backers were able to get our hands on a copy the same time as everyone else.
