Seriously? Within 3 months of SDCC? It seems to me this might scare off some of the guests and exhibitors. Marvel did not show up last year and I doubt this will improve things.
Nah, I don't think so. There are conventions just about every week from April to November. Three months is oodles of time relatively speaking. And Marvel not showing up at a medium-sized show is nothing new.
The only thing that will scare off guests and exhibitors is poor sales. The general consensus regarding sales last year was, “Meh,” so that may have an effect this year.
I think that the grand plan is to eventually have both an Anaheim and a San Francisco show. Right now, there seem to be continued issues with getting back into the Moscone Center.
I did see the sentence about "scheduling conflicts"--but I thought it was worded a little generally, as opposed to the detailed reasons given the previous two years. I think there might be a blended APE/Wondercon SF show, as the Concourse is being torn down so no APE there in 2014. At least I'm hoping that's what happens in the end. But I'm getting a little impatient with the continued "sorry, not this year--not our fault though." It may be true, but it's still getting on my nerves.

Again.
*sigh*
Why?!? Don't they understand that the chances of me getting to go on those days is nigh impossible?!?
I get it - a lot of folks get holidays off. Goody for them. I don't. Ah, well. Save me money for a flight, anyway.
*grumble, grumble*
