Okay. I can't be the only one who's read comics that have been critically poo-pooed on and enjoyed. Most recently, before I fell behind into my own little time bubble, I enjoyed Age of Ultron. What are some of your favorite bad or obscure comics or comic characters that you've enjoyed, and why?
My favorite bad/obscure comic character, if i had to choose is Azrael. Read Sword of Azrael, Knightfall(Knightfall, Knight's Quest, Knight's End in trades), and the whole Azrael series, issues 1-100. I might list or talk about some more laters. I want to see other peoples' though too :)

Infectious Lass has stolen my heart... :)
Darkhawk! I know its a terrible character, from an awful period at Marvel (even worse if "X" wasn't in your title) but I was 10 or 11 and it was the first book I ever really followed, even if it was only for 7 or 8 issues. I reread the series recently and its even worse than I remember, and I still love it!
As for bad series: Exiles!
This was always the first book I dropped when my budget got tight, and always the first book I picked up again. It was never very good, but i just loved it for some reason. It took Chris Claremont (who's writing I can't stand. Once a friend bought me a "Visionaries" trade as a joke just to get a rise out of me) to finally make me put it down for good. But when New Exiles was launched I gobbled up all 6 issues of that book too!
Also, I'd never trust a church official with copies of "The Hiding Place" or "God's Smuggler" laying around.
;)
This was some inexplicable green cloud-ish creature that would appear radomly into people's lives and make some unexpected alteration that would affect some person's life-altering decisions. The stories appeared intermittently in DC's Tales Of The Unexpected during the 60's.
Phil Foglio brought it back for a single post-Crisis appearance in his Angel & The Ape mini-series, where it was revealed that the Glob was a semi-sentient residue from the Green Lantern power batter on Oa.
