Not sure what to think about this myself. One the one hand, 52 was something that I really enjoyed. On the other, Countdown was something that I really didn't enjoy.

The New 52 is still offering me a few things that I'm enjoying but not so much that I wouldn't welcome them doing something that would drop the current version of the DC universe in favor or a return to the old timeline or even another newer, less 90's Marvel timeline.

Right there with you buddy. I liked the relatively recent DCU circa '06-Pre-Flashpoint. I enjoyed the hell out of 52 and dropped out of Countdown about 15 issues in. If this is the escape valve to get out of the New52, great! if not, meh.

There are some good creators on it. The current state of DC's output makes me wary rather than hopeful, but I will at least give it a try.

It wasn't that long ago I was buying way more DC than anything else. Now, I'm down to Sandman and Batman 66. This sounds interesting and, despite my current distaste for the New 52, I would like to be reading more DC. I'll give this a shot and see where it's going.

What will be the price point for this? A $3.99 weekly book may be a tough sell.

I'm still down with a lot of the New52. I think we're still at a point where DC cannot and will not admit they made a mistake (and I'm not saying it was a mistake) but they're not above fine-tuning the universe they've created to "fix" the problems within it.

I don't know about al of this. I'm not sure what this is really going to be about. I like the characters well enough but I'm kind of done with weekly books. I just don't care enough. I'll wait and see what people think about this. This doesn't sound like it's going to be an on-going so maybe I'll get this in trade. Eventually. I know that Raging Bullets will be talking about this so I know I'm all set in synopsis.
  • I was partially intrigued until I read that Firestorm was one of the focus characters.

Strike that. I was partially intrigued, then I read that Firestorm was one of the focus characters, and I was over the moon... for a moment.

Then, logic kicked in, and I thought, "Oh, they mean the current incarnation, I'm sure."

THEN I was sad, because I love Firestorm, but what the New 52 did to him hurts my heart.

All darkness, all the time for DC Comics?

    SuperManson Family

Spoiler Alert for Supergirl and Superboy

    ...

    .....

From the article: Yes, that's Supergirl, as a Red Lantern, throwing up blood all over her opponent, while wearing a pretty butt-ugly costume. And to quote from the solicitation:
She’s done with hope, faith and acceptance. Now, all that’s left is rage. And she’ll burn the universe down before she lets another person tell her who she should be.

YEA. that's what we all want in our Supergirl right?

And then there's Superboy: See, this isn't Conner/Kon-El, the clone of Superman (and other various parties). No, this is the "new" Superboy, the time-traveling Jon Lane Kent, son of Superman and Lois from an alternate (?) future. Yes, that makes my head hurt, too.
I should note that this is the second Superboy cover of 2014 to show our new Superboy standing over a pile of bloodied bodies. Because that's how we like our Superboy, apparently.
You see, this Superboy is EVIL. Marv Wolfman delights in the fact that he's writing a villain!! And, as our solicit says, EVIL Superboy and his crew are searching for...
a chance at changing the world into their own perverted image of a perfect world.
