Identifying A Villain

Anybody able to identify which DC or Marvel series had this villain: white, bald guy, the first time we see him he comes home from work in a suit with briefcase in hand and once inside his apartment he morphs into a creature that looks like he's made of rock-like sections?
I believe this comic came out somewhere between 1985-1987 and it could have been a regular series or a mini-series. Not sure if it was DC or Marvel. Any ideas would help, thanks!!
