As a kid I used to haunt my local video store scrounging for movie posters. I had this one in my wall for years before I ever actually saw the movie. Pretty sure I'm not the only one. What movie posters did you have and love as a kid.
I got this poster after I bought the Star Wars album after I saw the movie in the theater. I had it up until it fell too pieces. At the the end it was more tape then poster.
I never had posters on my wall as a kid -- my parents would have torn me a new one if I even tried. But posters weren't all that big a deal at that time anyway; I'm from a different era.
Years later, however, as a young man on my own, my best friend got me the poster for The Secret Of NIMH, knowing how much I enjoyed the film and that I was also a fan of the Hildebrandt Brothers who had painted the poster. He also went to the trouble of getting it mounted on a foam backboard.

I had such a love/hate relationship with this poster.
It was so cool, but the multiple Falcons bugged the crap out of me.
@random73 yep - I owned those and dozens more. As a kid I've spent many summers in Italy where I knew a family that owned a cinema. I love the Spaghetti Westerns and Italian films in general. They gave us Leone, Argento, Bava, Fulci, Castellari, Lenzi an many more. Living in the middle of Europe has it's advantages. To me American movies have been the exotic fair...
I got the Gone With the Wind one, because an uncle of mine had one. Every time I'd visit his place, I'd think to myself, I want that poser. So eventually (i.e. sometime in early teen years) I bought one. As for the Star Wars poster, it really doesn't need an explanation.
Later in life, I would create parodies of both these posters for by tumblr. blog.
On a vacation trip to Seaside, OR, I convinced my wife to stop in Astoria, OR and go see the Goonies house. We them did a little tour of the area for all of the Goonies sites. Fun stuff.
I saw Predator 2 at the theatre with my buddy Josh and his girlfriend right before he stopped being my buddy and she started being my girlfriend. Still feel a bit bad about that. Not real bad. Just a bit. 2 years later she left me for a fry cook at McDonalds. Think she's still married to that guy. Bit tragic that. Sorry. Stream of consciousness tangent. Resume geekiness.

Saw Predator 2 opening night with one of my best friends after seeing Robot Jocks (I can't believe I just admitted paying money to see that!) and on the heels of about 72 consecutive hours of model building for an architectural design studio class. In hindsight, we should have gone to Predator 2 first so that I could have slept through Robot Jocks.
Loved that movie as a kid...I need to see it again..Piper's acting wasn't that bad either.
It was fun, though the fight in the alley was more than a little over the top. Pretty sure that it wouldn't take more than one time getting my head run into a dumpster to convince me to put on the damned glasses.
i know i had some movie posters hung when i was young but cant remember what exactly. i had various posters of the 1989 batman movie and even the 1990 punisher movie... but mainly late teens were all posters of hot girls and comic posters.

I have no idea why my mother let me have this on my wall as a 10 year old...
