Help with Marvel Epic Collections

Hello everyone -

I received a couple of Marvel Epic Collections for Christmas and really enjoyed them. I know that there have been many Epic Collection volumes published for each Marvel character (i.e. Thor has 11 volumes, Spider-man has over 20).

Is there a list online that would show me every Epic Collection volume? Would like to create a checklist for myself. I cannot seem to find a comprehensive list, even on Amazon.

Thanks in advance,
Max

  • The numbers on them are screwy, there have NOT been 20 Spider-Man books, but if they print everything it will be where that volume is in sequence.

The Epic Line just started in 2013. Ignoring the numbering, i think only a handful have actually been released. I have the Avengers & Thor. I believe an Iron Man & Spiderman have been released as well. Fantastic Four and Capt America volumes have already been solicited and should be out in a couple months
  • The Epic Collections are released out of sequence because Marvel realizes that there have been countless collections of ... say .. AMAZING SPIDERMAN that people have bought countless times before. Instead of making people buy the same old stories that have been collected by many readers, this "new" format is looking to collect the stories that have not been collected as many times (if at all) in the hopes of bringing buyers in.

It is really smart of them I think.

How many people are going to want to buy the first 15 issues of Amazing Spider-Man again? It has been collected in so many formats it is crazy. This way Marvel gets you, the buyer, in by collecting stories not often seen and then they will eventually work back to get those early issues that everyone has already seen.

    :)
  • Thanks to all of you for your help! Much appreciated! (Now I know why I could not find a comprehensive list online!)
