Fallen Son: The Death of Captain America

So, in the 5pt Fallen Son storyline, Cap's body is laid to rest near where it was found. Has this ever been touched upon since? Is there actually 2 body now; 1 buried & 1 dead?

  • As I recall, that was just what they told the public. Cap's body was actually interned under the North Atlantic somewhere, courtesy of the Sub-Mariner. When they later went to check on the body, after the Red Skull's schemes slowly came to light, they discovered it missing.

I'll have to pull out my copies to double-check, but that's what I recall.

Thanks. I knew about the public fake funeral & Namor returning the body near where it was found. I just wasn't sure if the actual body was touched upon with the whole time travel bit.

  • Found it: Captain America Reborn #3 -- Namor and Reed Richards retrieve the coffin with Cap's body from its resting place in the North Atlantic, but as they haul it onto the surface, the body (seen through the coffin's transparent lid) abruptly vanishes without warning or explanation -- if it was ever really there to begin with. The implication is that it's a temporal trick devised by Dr Doom as part of a payment owed to the Skull.

Cool, thanks. I was something I always wondered if the Red Skull was going to use as a back up body like when he used a Rogers clone body.

I guess now there'd only a Wolverine body out there.

Scenarios like this is exactly why I love comics.

Yeah, you just can't do that at home.
