I'm not sure if anybody else has heard of this, or is even local, but the second annual Nittany Con comic convention will be this coming Sunday, March 30th, from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. It's a hotel convention, and will be located at 971 N Eagle Valley Rd, Milesburg, Pennsylvania 16853.
I went last year and had a good time. It's local for me, so that makes it fun regardless. They're expanding a bit this year, and while it's still only a single day the space they're getting is bigger as well as having a lot more special guests attending. The people attending are (from their Facebook page):
Daniel HORNE (The Art of Marvel Comics, Vampirella Revelations)
Robert HACK (Afterlife with Archie, Doctor Who)
Jason LENOX (The Art of Jason Lenox, Ugli Studios Presents)
Dani KAULAKIS ((The Art of Jason Lenox)
Brendan HYKES
Jared BROWN
Ted RIDDLE
Brian ALLEN
Joseph FREISTUHLER (Ugli Studios Presents)
Thom and Kambrea PRATT
Philip MERTZ
Chris CAMPANA (The Accelerators, Negative Burn)
Sean BRADLEY (Lady Vampre, Ms. Cyanide & Ice)
Skywalker Base STAR WARS Group
State College Area ROLLER DERBY
I know a convention like this is well below a lot of people's radar, but I wanted to make sure I put this up here since
@Adam_Murdough went to school here.

Here are a couple pictures of the convention's general layout. Sorry for the less-than-ideal shots, but I had to snap them on the move...
Suprisingly (or perhaps not given the University environment in which we live locally) there was a really well-represented group of people cosplaying. They held a contest and there were a LOT more people entering than I expected. Costumes ranged, as always from simple to more complex...
As for myself, I got a pretty good haul continuing to fill in the gaps in my Avengers and Thor series, as well as starting to try to find all the Champions issues...
I also got some art of my own original character done by a couple of the guys in attendance. Jared D. Brown and Chris Campana (of Kantara and First World fame) did a smash-up job each...
I'm really thrilled to have a local convention, and as you can tell excited to continue to be able to go each year. It grows just a little bit year by year, eventually I hope it'll warrant a relocation to State College proper in a much larger venue where it can draw even more people from the resident student body.
