I'll believe it when I see it. I also like how 'Gotham' was said to be about a young Batman. That's hardly the case, but thanks for the marketing spin.
So I guess DC have gotten to a point now where they will allow their characters to appear on both TV and movies. That'll be better to see than the Smallville years of always wanting to see young Bruce but never being able to.

I'm not convinced the young Bruce shown will be the one worth seeing.
I'll reserve judgement until I see it but I do think in a couple of years if Gotham is still going they will probably start having issues with the actor growing up. Might be the point where they have to send him off around the world for training.

That's actually one of my concerns. Remember when we found a young Anakin Skywalker? He was annoying. Later, a teenage Anakin was shown to be a whiny bitch.
I don't want Bruce spending much time in Gotham. By season 2, he should already be abroad training.
I think I would have prefered it if Gotham just ended up as a show about Gordon. It would have been easier to do and an angle we havent seen on TV yet.
Isn't Gotham about young Bats in the same way Smallville was about young Supes? no costumes but still formative?
It could be looked at it that way because you'll see a young Bruce, but I'd argue unless its a globetrotting Bruce learning skills that its not the same.
When Smallville started, Kent already had some powers on some level. He was saving people from the beginning.
Bruce died the same night as his parents & Batman wasn't born until his return to Gotham. This series starts with the murder, so Bruce wouldn't/shouldn't be doing anything remotely like what Batman will be doing.
Plus, I'll always argue you can have Bruce in 5-10% of a year's worth of issues and its no big deal. The same can't be said about Kent or Parker. Both the Kent & Parker identities are equally as important as their alter egos. Batman really has no other responsibilities other then being Batman.
Bruce should be a supporting character who occasionally appears during Season 1 and leaves Gotham season 2.

This week? Next month? SDCC?
Or, maybe after the second Man of Steel/Batman Vs. Superman/Bizarro End-Run JLA film proves profitable?
Soon... what a gloriously nebulous term.
