Looking for help with a movie title.

A friend IM'd me today with a trivia question but he nor I knew the answer to it so I was hoping one of you out there in geek land can help out.


This is is IM: Name the movie (c.1978-82) that was about a guy with one of only cars left. But this car was different because if ran on water. Also, has some kid helping him out throught the movie.

Are you sure it isn't "The Water Engine"? it was a play turned into a movie the play was in the mid-late 70s but the movie was early 90s.

@zhurrie Thanks but I don't think The water Engine is it since my friend says the movie is somewhere in between 78-82.

@luckymustard my friend also made reference to Hyde from that 70s show making reference to a "car that runs on water" in The Circle as a running gag.

OK, then I think you just have the facts messed up a bit. The movie is definitely "The Last Chase" from like 1981. Guaranteed.

The trivia question he asked me was copied and pasted as he asked me. I will find out tomorrow if The Last Chase is the one he is thinking of.

Yay! So what do I win! ;) I have a crazy encyclopedic film/videogame memory, my friends normally utilize it for these same reasons. I have one personal quest though that I have not been able to solve:

An episode of Conan a long time ago (like late 90's - 1999?) He had on a female guest and then a male guest came out he seemed like one of those white southern boy type rappers like Bubba Sparxx, etc.) with a jug of moonshine. Conan and the female guest joined in with their mugs and they all began to drink and truly get ripped. Conan swiped his arm across his desk knocking everything all over the place including his show notes so the show just devolved from there and I think they even cut it off early. I can't find it or find anyone that knows which show/guests it was. I've been searching for more than 10 years.

so when you said the car ran on water.......did that mean it ran on water as a fuel source or it ran on water as a roadway?

i got confused

also I don't recall that episode of Conan but I'm not a regular viewer either
