Thought I'd kick off the Australian Contingent of the CGS U.

JC is back and getting psyched for Supanova in the Gold Coast. I know I keep on asking but is anyine going? If anyone is interested there could be a meetup, otherwise wait until Sydney or Melbourne.

By the way, anyoine seen Ghost Rider yet? I know people probably read my last post on it on the (now) old forums. Loved Goyer's writing, thought the special effect were awesome, loved how they tweaked the concept from the first movie. Only wished that David and Margret did a review on it and give it some more exposure, despite David's dislike of all things comic book at the moment. (Had to get in the first Australian reference myself)

I was trying to think of something cool and team-y. Has a little more flair than 'those guys' or 'barbie shrimps' or something equally stereotypical.

Now 'The Contingent' can take on the world.

For those who are off to Supanova Gold Coast, they have opened up the Bendis Masterclass to all preview night ticketholders for free.

Anyone ever been to a Masterclass? Do you know what is involved? I'd like to go but I don't really have anything written to take with me. Should I get busy over the next week?

i would imagine it is a how to write class, not a review script class.

Batman - yep
Daredevil - i will read the first trade soon
Saga - will read it soon
Walking Dead - as the trades come out
Captain Marvel - wait for trade, but i am not that keen
Hawkeye - trade
Unwritten - trade, but it slowly losing me
Scalped - read the first 2 trades i did not like it.
Northlanders - trade, only 1 more to go.

Oh man, Daredevil and Saga are my two favorite books right now! I envy you reading the trades for the first time.

Captain Marvel is good. IGN has been giving it consistent 9/10's but I didnt think it was that good. Hawkeye on the other hand lives up to the hype. I love it so far.

I am interested in Suicide Squad. I loved Secret Six.

i have read the first issues of DD and saga them they were good enough to keep reading, i am going to read saga digitally.

i loved the previous ms marvel series that is what is pushing me to get at least the first trade, hawkeye seems a bit like the iron fist series by fraction/brubaker.

suicide squad does remind me a bit of secret six but a bit more violent. i think the only reason why they suicide squad instead of secret six is because the concept is easier to understand.

I might pick up the suicide squad trade. Hawkeye has the same feel as that iron fist series for sure.

i am pretty sure the 1st trade has 1-6 in it.

on the weekend i read saga 1-6, that series is awesome i couldn't put i down i had to buy 3-6 straight away. the book reads perfectly full screen panel to panel on the ipad, it was like a movie.

Agree. Saga is probably the best series I have read in a long long time.

We just had the Adelaide Supanova but I didn't go. Not enough good comics guests for me
