So, our cable company upgraded to a new system and we now have an in-house DVR. I've never been one to really focus on episodic TV as my schedule is so erratic I can't commit to any consistent days or nights of viewing. I've watched plenty of series (Lost, Breaking Bad, Big Bang Theory, Mad Men) via DVD/Blu-Ray. I'm really looking forward to actually catching some series while they're on the air - even in a delayed format.
My 'short list' of shows to add to the recorder include The Walking Dead, Bates Motel, Orphan Black, In the Flesh, and The Americans. Based on USA Today's reviews of some upcoming shows, I am also going to set up Halt And Catch Fire, Extant, The Strain, and The World Wars.
Anything else you folks would recommend? Anything on premium channels (HBO, Showtime) are out....
