Tell me about the new He-Man series

I've been away from comics for a few years. In my local library, I pick up a TPB of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe volume 1 (1-6 miniseries from 2012), because this was my favorite show as a kid. Read thru it and was great. Did some searching on the net, and it appears that the miniseries I read was a sequel to some digital comics, and that the new on-going series is a sequel to the miniseries I read. Questions:

1. Where can I find these digital comics that come before the miniseries? Is comixology the only place to buy them?

2. Does this series continue from the 2002 cartoon series & comic books? If yes, are there any references or resolved plots from the 2002 stuff? Wondering if I should go back and watch and read those?

3. Anyone else loving the new series? I am seriously considering buying comics again just to support this series. I'd hate to see it get cancelled. Searching on the web, I can't find any forums talking about this series except he-man.org. Searching this forum there doesn't seem to be any discussions about He-Man comics.

4. SPOILER: In issue 6 of the 2012 miniseries, He-Man makes a reference to Orko betraying him to Skeletor. Does this happen in the previously mentioned digital comics that come before the miniseries?

I don't know anything about the 2002 cartoon series and I know nothing of of the digital comics series that took place before the 2012 mini-series.

I dropped the new ongoing around issue 5 or 6, maybe even issue 4. Pop Mahn is a great artist, what caused me to drop it was the use of modern slang in a fantasy setting. Reading He-Man say "my bad" to me is as bad as Aragorn, Gimli and Legalos calling each other "bro" or Sonja saying, "yo! sup dude" to Conan. But I did enjoy it up until then.

I have gotten the first two trades. It is okay. I enjoyed the first trade however the second trade was a little disjointed. It mixed a story (which had no relation to the story in the first trade that I could make out) with a few short origin stories.

I would say this is a borrow for now.
