Back when this whole internet thingy was barely an itch in its daddy's pants (ie, the realm of BBS and Usenet groups), my handle was ThePeoplesPoet. :)
The Young Ones was so much fun in the mid 80's. I remember watching it late night on MTV and thinking how much better than Cheers and Night Court this is. He was "The People's Poet"
I'd completely missed the whole Young Ones phenom... heard about it years later from an Aussie friend who raved endlessly about it. Still haven't seen it, though I take my friend's word for it.

It's worth seeking out if you like Brit comedy. At only two short seasons it's not a huge time investment, and it's loaded with cameos from people like Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry, Jennifer Saunders, Emma Thompson, etc. and some pretty fun musical numbers from Motorhead, The Damned, Madness, and others. The humor is pretty much relentless, but it holds up well over time. Ade Edmonson and Mayall went on to do a lot more fun projects together, but Young Ones was really something all its own.
