On a side note, be great IMO if they could revisit this somehow. Maybe turn the script into an elseworlds comic or even better, one if their animated dtvs!
Hey guys! I'm Rob Pierce, co-producer of The Death of 'Superman Lives': What Happened? We are releasing a new trailer tomorrow for the project via Thunderclap - thndr.it/Ve8XaL It's really awesome. The movie spent 2 years in preproduction and spent $30 million on concepting, writing, costuming, etc., and we have a ton of information for you. I love seeing the interest here. If you'd like to know more, check out supportsupermanlives.com It's a pretty awesome piece of history. Thanks for the support, and I hope to keep this thread alive and chat with ya!
Completely agree. Check out the new trailer, the scope of the film is really quite broad, and the people involved are the best of the best at what they do.
Thanks for doing so. I think it could have been. Tim Burton was looking to provide a very different angle into the life of Superman. I love hearing everyone talk about the concept art and costuming, funny stuff.
Anybody else seen this yet? I bought it at the con to get a physical copy. It's pretty good. Certainly interesting and entertaining if you're intrigued by the material. Not quite as good or in depth as I had hoped, but still has a lot to offer. In the end Im disappointed this never got made. I think there were a lot of interesting and cool ideas. Think it would've been more good than bad, especially at that time. As for the documentary it seems there is actually serious talk about this script being translated into an animated DTV. I hope so. Also, I think one of the most interesting parts of the doc was an extended interview on the blu Ray extras with former designer/artist for the movie. He made an engaging argument about Hollywood (comic movies) essentially destroying comics and film and conventions and vice versa. Really thought provoking and is be curious to hear others opinions.
I backed the Kickstarter and watched it in full at Otakon back in July. I really enjoyed it. They got a lot more interviews than I was expecting, and do a great job of painting the full picture of what might have been.
So the question remainds, would it have been heralded like the 1978 Superman film or would it have been lambasted like the Catwoman film? Or even divided fans like the Man Of Steel movie?

Granted, I haven't seen it, but I think the short answer would be, "Yes."

Looks great, I would love to see that documentary.
Cheers,
