Unconventional conventions?

Hey everyone,
I'm kind of new to the convention scene, and have only been to Wizard World Portland and Rose City Comic Con, heading up to a smaller one, Jet City, next weekend. I heard a lot about Fablescon, the fantasy-comic con that was put together by Bill Willingham. This seemed like a really interesting idea for comic fans who need a break of the capes. I am also hearing rumblings of different fantasy and sci-fi cons that might be comic heavy. I am really interested in hearing about any unconventional cons that people have been going to, and what the comic presence there is like.
