Family "CON"fussion - C2E2

Hi gang, it's been a long time since I have posted on these boards (years actually), but I do have a question about C2E2 for 2015.
My kids (parker 8 & mackenna 12) are dying to go to their first comic convention and since we live in Iowa, we decided we would try C2E2 in 2015. We just found out that Stan Lee will be there. All 3 of us want to meet him (or get a photo with him or even an autograph)
My question is: what do I need to do to ensure that we will get to meet him. Is there a special ticket I need, do we just have to get there at the crack of dawn and stand in line all day (meanwhile missing the rest of the convention)? We are only planning on being there on Sunday because it is kids day and much more affordable.
If anyone met Stan Lee last year at C2E2 and can share some wisdom I would greatly appreciate it along with any other sage advice you may have for taking kids to cons.

I can't say how C2E2 will be handling it, but the last show I was at that hosted Stan had a line in the morning at one location where you bought your ticket—and there are two or three different types of tickets, depending on if you want a photo or not, etc. Then there was another line at a different location later for the actual signing. Plan on spending a couple of hours of your day, give or take, in line if you want to meet Stan.

Other than that, be sure to take your kids through artist alley. I would recommend getting them each a small 4" x 6" or 5" x 7" sketchbook, because most artists are happy to do a free quick head sketch for a kid. Most kids find that fascinating, and it'll really get them into the spirit of the show.

I would also suggest going at a leisurely pace to let them absorb it all in their own time. Don't be afraid to linger a while in areas that hold their attention. The show isn't so big that you won't be able to see everything by the end of the day anyway.

When you buy your tickets online, doesn't the Con offer you the "meet Stan Lee" option that costs 3 or 4 times more than the normal price? That's how it worked at Motor City Con.

I saw Stan at Detroit Fanfare in 2010. I bought a ticket for a Stan Lee package. I think I paid $125(?) I got to sit in a panel with Stan. It was great! My son who was 7 got to ask Stan a question. And Stan was nice enough to answer how he came up with Spider-man for the millionth time. We got a picture and one item signed. I would keep checking the c3e2 website for info.

Taking my son (11) this year. I'm going to let him have the run of the con. We will be there Saturday and Sunday. 2013's Sunday was like some con's Saturday. It was great then and should be a great show this year.
