Sony Acquires Rights To Space Opera "Descender"
(darkhorizons.com) Sony Pictures Entertainment has acquired feature film rights to Jeff Lemire and Dustin Nguyen's upcoming comic book series "Descender".
Described as a space opera full of mystery and adventure, the story follows a lifelike artificial boy named TIM-21 who, along with his rag-tag group of unlikely companions, is looking for home.
The trouble is, he holds the secrets deep in his machine DNA to the origin of robots that have decimated entire planets - making him the most-wanted robot in the universe.
Josh Bratman will produce and Lemire and Nguyen are attached to executive produce.
