That's funny. Hate to nitpick, but you'd think they'd have proof-read it a bit more before printing it:
"due to *a* uppercut from Batman."
The newspaper industry, especially small town papers, is so tragically understaffed now that there is often nobody available to proofread, nor time to do so.
More than anything I applaud Mr. Merrill's family for maintaining their sense of humor in the face of such a tragedy. Their ability to do so shows great strength of character and it's clear from this that they wanted his life to be celebrated rather than his death to be mourned.
Now, if only I could convince my wife to print my eventual cause of death as "shot by an elf with a gun"...
