So issue ONE (number ONE people) JUST came out on Weds. And now? On FRIDAY, they announce the movie.
http://screenrant.com/chrononauts-comic-movie-universal/Now on to the comic. I personally LOVED it. But then again, I've been following Sean Gordon Murphy religiously since
Punk Rock Jesus. The art, no surprise based on my preference for the artist, was great. The story was quite good. Though, my only critique would be how rapid fire the issue seems. They go from, essentially, theory to satellite execution to full on individual time travel suits in the space of a single issue. Assuming the popularity of this series is well enough to make it an ongoing, I wouldn't have minded them taking their time a little more. Then again, it WAS billed as a time travel story, so taking too long to get into the meat of it probably wasn't in the cards.

Given his track record, I would imagine Millar has an ongoing development deal with Universal. So I would guess if you collaborate with him on a new original, you might do so knowing the concept has already been acquired, so the option money becomes part of the deal from the beginning.
Put another way-- it might not have been that Dave Gibbons was dying to work with Mark Millar. Rather, Gibbons might have wanted to get another movie made.
