The comic book industry lost one of its finest today. Here's to you, Herb. Not only one of the greatest Hulk artists ever, but also the first to draw Wolverine. Hope you're talking up Jack Kirby right now in the land beyond.

I was afraid of this. He was supposed to be at Gem City Comic Con this past March, but had to cancel.

That sucks. So sad to hear this news.
Mr. Trimpe's issues of the Hulk were some to the first comics I got my hands on, and (obviously) had a huge impression on me. Loved his version of MODOK.


I was looking forward to meeting him at Emerald City Comicon a few year's back, but he had to cancel.

This was my first Hulk comic, a poignant homage to the Frankenstein legend. Trimpe brought a ton of heart to this story.

I just saw him the day before he died at the East Coast Comic Con interacting happily with his fans and having a good time. He will be missed, but always remembered.

Great to hear that he was doing something he loved and was being appreciated, right up to the end. 'Died with his boots on', as they sometimes say.

I've been reading the Marvel Essential Godzilla I got for Christmas all this week. And I read a lot of Bronze age Marvel right now too, so this one hit pretty hard.

The Spot is one of my favorite villains, so in honor of Mr. Trimpe's work I dug out his three issue stint on Spectacular Spider-Man to read. He was the perfect choice to pair with Milgrom for those issues. I only wish that he would've been able to draw issue #100. Milgrom's own art is fine but nobody drew The Spot like Trimpe!
