I'd be interested in this. I've been reading tons of Valiant comics this way via Scribd. But I'd rather do it via Comixology, as their system is far superior.
Yeah, but "select comics" ...if that means only comics that are x months old..ok, I'm in. I'll go 100% digital. I won't be so excited if it means only certain comics from a publisher's line being available..
You guys saying "part of a Prime" membership - and forgive my ignorance in advance (you pretty much have to anyhow, right? :) ) - are you saying Amazon Prime? As in an Amazon Prime membership would potentially gain access to this Comixology deal? Is something going on right now to that effect?
Because I just stopped using Marvel Unlimited...but I might be interested in jumping on Prime if this were the case.

Yes and Prime already offers a Netflix-like service plus a music streaming service. So why not throw this in as well?

And if you order items from Amazon, you can get in shipped in 2 business days or next day for $4 per item. That's really been helpful for our family on some occasions. This would just make it even better. However, I wonder how long Amazon can sustain this. I have heard they've been losing money in recent years, but doing it at the cost of gaining more market share from brick and mortar stores, hoping one day they'll bump back into the red. Regardless, as a consumer, I would be ecstatic about this deal.
Now, on the flipside, after my first, appetite-driven, "gimmie comics!" reaction, I would hope that this all you can eat doesn't end up muscling small press and creator-owners into Spotify/Pandora like deals that end up paying them fractions of pennies for their content being consumed, as many musicians are experiencing thanks to their record labels making those deals.
Hopefully that won't be the dark side of the story.

Yeah, but that's exactly what will happen. There aren't enough platforms for digital comics to make it competitive for creators. If they want their books to reach an audience, it's the only game in town. And there is a sweet spot that these library services have to hit or the customers won't come. You won't see a monthly price point higher than 14.99 a month on this (if I'd guess I'd say either 9.99 or 12.99) which leaves little to spread around. If DC and Marvel are part of it, they'll eat up the largest portions of that pie with the most agreeable terms, since they are the only publishers Comixology depends on. Maybe if Image, IDW, Dark Horse and Dynamite work collectively they could get some favorable deals too. Outside of that, it's slave labor. The Kindle Unlimited service has been awful too creators. I don't see another Amazon product fairing any differently.
Right now I can wait a few months and get some Image comics for $1.99 and $.99 for sales. Doing an all-you-can-eat model while a great deal for consumers has to be a bad one for creators. A comic gets read 10,000 and the creator gets probably less than if they sold 1,000 comics because the subscription fee has to be split with other books. I am just speculating but I could see that as the situation.
Maybe a tiered system of you pay a flat fee for a limited number of current books and then unlimited after six months like Marvel.
I want to hear what Image says. Since they are creator focused I don't think they want to give away their whole montly catalog for a fraction of $9.99/month.

I hope it's included in Prime too.

i feel like we've really seen a resurgence of US grown art talent recently... going to suck to see that get priced out

Of course, several are FCBD issues...
