Back To The Future Heads To IDW!

Speaking of Bob Gale, who was just brought up on the Daredevil in the 2000s episode, he's heading Back To The Future!

He's heading up a team that includes IDW veteran writers John Barber ("Transformers") and Erik Burnham ("Ghostbusters"). The idea is for Gale to offer suggestions and oversee the issues which will be broken up into smaller stories penned by Burnham and Barber with a rotating cast of artists lending their styles to the time-weaving tales. The first will feature "Batman '66" artist Brent Schoonover as well as "Ghostbusters" penciller Dan Schoening.
Full article is available on CBR, which includes some hints as to what some of the stories will cover. SDCC reveals BEGIN!

Solicitation from IDW: Back to the Future #1 (of 4)

Bob Gale, John Barber, Erik Burnham (w) • Brent Schoonover, Dan Schoening (a) • Schoening (c)

“Untold Tales and Alternate Timelines,” part 1: BttF creator/screenwriter Bob Gale returns with all-new tales from the twisting and turning timeline that made Back to the Future a, well… TIMELESS pop-culture phenomenon! Take a trip back to 1985 and be there when Doc Brown and Marty McFly first meet, and then jump even farther back, to 1945, to witness Doc’s involvement in the super-secret Manhattan Project.

Bon Gale confuses me. Adamant about there being no BTTF4, or any kind of movie sequel. Buuuuuuut a cartoon is ok, a game is OK, a musical is OK, a comic is OK....

Would a movie with Marty or docs kids really be THAT insane?

I'm looking forward to the comic. I've had BTTF on the brain ever since I showed the movies to my girls for the first time a few weeks ago. You should have seen their reaction when at the end of the first movie the car converted into a hovercraft! Priceless. And then they said "It would be great if there were other movies where they showed what happened next." Boy were they excited when I clued them in there were two more! I love having kids and sharing my childhood with them!
