Denver gets its first big comic convention and it supports a good cause. Happening Father's Day weekend June 15-17th 2012
Charlie LaGreca, aka Charlito of Indie Spinner Rack and friend of CGS, co-founded The Comic Book Classroom with Frank Romero. Denver Comic Con is the fundraising arm of this non-profit organization that is an after-school program for fifth through eighth grade students that teaches literacy and arts education through comic books and is dedicated to educating at-risk and under-served students through teaching the basics of the craft, starting with the elements of structure and storytelling.
If anyone hasn't heard about it, please visit DenverComicCon on the web and feel free to talk about it here.
Looking for a destination con, then I suggest Denver Comic Con in Denver Colorado. There's nothing better than reading comics at a Mile High and seeing beautiful mountains, breathing fresh air and having fun in the heart of Denver!
Help us spread the word and we're sure DCC will grow in the coming years....
