Mark Evanier just announced that artist Dan Spiegle passed away last Saturday. Spiegle was an underappeciated artist. He wasn’t one of the greats, but he did a lot of really nice work during his long career. I first saw his work in a Gold Key
Scooby-Doo comic as a very young lad—it was one of the first comics I owned, and it stood out to me even then as being better than the cartoons. I wish I still had it, but it fell apart from repeated reading. I may start trying to track those issues down.
