I just heard through a Larry Hama post that the Fabulous One has passed away. For much of the early ’60s, she was the only staffer in the Marvel offices with Stan, and she served as the Girl Friday of the company until she left in 1968. She also published one of the biggest indie comics of the day,
Big Apple Comix (1975), which featured Wally Wood, Al Williamson, Mike Ploog, Marie Severin, Larry Hama, and Archie Goodwin among others. And she returned to Marvel, replacing Jack Abel in the Bullpen as proofreader.

She left Marvel in 1969 when the company refused giving her a $5 an hour raise, going on to work for the mail order wing of Warren Publishing.
