Stargirl (the television show)

Not the biggest fan of Geoff Johns as a comics writer, but this was a really good pilot episode and strong series concept.

We got a whole bunch of Golden Age heroes and villains looking p.much like they should (Brainwave wasn't a knock-off Sivana though), including Luke Wilson as a Stripesy who was both referred to as Stripesy and had a shirt with thick red and white stripes on it.

Then we got Courtney's origin story, and the seeds of what will be Infinity Inc. but at High School (we meet versions of Infinity Inc's Hourman, Dr. Midnite, Wildcat and Brainwave Jr.).

There's hints of things they can do down the line (curious how much of Robinson's Starman will be mined for ideas, seems to be a hint of The Shade in there), but I hope they stay focused on the kids and Pat Dugan for this initial season.

I haven't been able to watch anything on DC Universe since about Christmas. Tech support is of no use. Just waiting for my year to end at this point. Shitty service. I like the selection of comics, however.

I'm enjoying it so far (2 episodes in). Brack pretty much summed it all up above. Thumbs up from me.

Torchsong

I've enjoyed the first two episodes. Need to watch the third at some point. They've done a really good job setting up the roots for Infinity, Inc. and I'm hoping we'll see Brainwave Jr jump ship and become a "good guy" at some point. Things seem to be moving toward a "younger generation taking out the old guard" type of resolution and I'm on board with that.

Now if we can get a Helix... :)

I've been watching it with the whole family. 13 year old son and 10 year old daughter love it. Even my wife likes it and she's not usually into any comics TV shows.

I think Stargirl is the best CW superhero show I've seen thus far. Courtney is an awesome character and she has a great supporting cast.

Brack

Great finale. Even the couple of moments of Johns being Johns didn't detract. Loved the teases for next season (and beyond?). Mark Ashworth as Justin probably the highlight of the whole season.
