Mike and Tim are certainly busy right now with projects like Revival, Battlepug, Witchblade, Double Feature Comics, Hack/Slash and more. They managed to find some time to talk to us to let us know all about them. (1:08:30)
Well, I'm not so interested in either Mike's or Tim's comics, but I do like their banter. However, I think I did order that one comic that was half-off at DCBS and will be featured on the show soon. I also like that Murd DID NOT get muddled this episode! Keep doin' your best, Adam! Oh, and I also liked the extended version of the opening theme song at the end!
@MikeGallagher, I agree that the Double-Feature comics have been fun. I'll admit, however, that I've only gotten the issues starring Jack Kraken and Mike's The Answer.
I would LOVE to see both of those guys on a regular basis.
I've bought every one of the comics on Double Feature. As with anything, some are better than others, but where else are you going to get complete stories, many by top-notch creators, in various genres, and at a bargain price every day?
I enjoyed the episode. I agree with doing art digitally is way easier to keep clean, but I also think that hand drawn / on paper style has more personal touch.
I think I frist heard of Mike when he was drawing The All New Atom (got every issue, buddy) and appearing regularly on Around Comics (miss getting that podcast on a regular basis) and he was my first ever con sketch (Flash) (Seeley was 2nd with Creeper) and my first piece of original art (JSA #26 Pg 10 also featuring the Flash oddly enough). I was powerfully surprised not to see Mike drawing any of the new 52 books (esp since his books look great AND come out on time). But I'm super excited to check out this Farm Noir take on resurrection. It appears decidedly un-zombie in its approach so i'm curious.
Yeah Mike, AC was my gateway drug into the world of podcasting. I stumbled across them just as I was getting back into comics '07 ish. Then shortly thereafter CGS blipped on my radar. I still get a kick out of catching Chris Niesman on IFanboy every once in a while.
11 O'Clock Comics has a whole forum to discuss and give feedback. Could we keep this thread on the topic?
Thanks.
Sure,
So i dug the FCBD preview of the Seely/Norton book. The bit I think that has me jazzed the most is the non-zombie ressurection elements I seem to be seeing. These, until recently dead, people are ostensibly coherent. What do these expect to resume their lives? What kind of chaos does that cause to people mourning...There is some serious drama to be mined there, i think.
Yes. I thought the Answer/Kraken issue of Double Feature was fantastic. And the way Double Feature approaches really making use of the digital possibilities of digital comics is something other publishers could really learn from.
