    Probably Marvel on brute force and sneakery (providing you leave out everyone who had a military background, but then went on to be a Lantern or Number One Superguy)

    Who is number 5 on your list brah? He is the only one I don't know.

    That is Dr. Watson from Sherlock Holmes fame. He's the narrator of almost all of the Sherlock Holmes tales and was a surgeon in the British Army. I love everything Holmes and there are a fair number of comics featuring him and Homes and he seriously springs to mind above a lot of others when I was glancing over my trades to come up with my list.

    If there weren't the one-per restriction my list would be:
